EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO GOOD SIGHT.
With over 40 years of experience, Advanced Vision Care, Dr. Samuel Masket and his associates recognized that not everyone has access to needed vision care and procedures.
The Masket Foundation was created as the community service arm of Advanced Vision Care. The first mission of the foundation is to provide ongoing ophthalmic research for the benefit of medical professionals and for those in need of better sight. The second mission is to provide "state of the art" eye care for patients with inadequate resources. The third mission is to educate the medical professionals and the public about eye diseases and the current research related to those conditions.
California Highway Patrol officer Dane Norem was stabbed seven times while attempting to stop a suicide; a pocketknife sliced across his eyeball. After his doctors told him that his sight could not be improved any further, he decided to take matters into his own hands. Dane searched and through UCLA was referred to Dr. Samuel Masket at Advanced Vision Care in Century City.
Two silicon implants later, Dane's sight is fully restored thanks to The Masket Foundation.
